The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone 6 months and older get the flu shot. Your Aetna plan covers this service under your Part B (medical) coverage. When you get your shot, show your member ID card for medical coverage. How you get your shot is your choice.
Schedule an appointment with your doctor
Visit your doctor before flu season begins. If you don’t have a doctor yet, use the online tool below to search for one in our network.
Visit an in-network pharmacy
Our in-network flu shot providers bill us directly, so you won’t have to pay upfront. This isn’t a complete list of participating pharmacies in our network. Call the number on your member ID card if you don’t see yours.
Get a flu shot out of network
You can also go to a flu shot provider that is not in our network. With this option, you must:
Send a copy of your receipt to the claims address on your Aetna ID card
Include your member ID on the receipt
Help protect yourself from shingles by getting your shot
Shingrix is covered under Medicare Part D benefits at no cost to you. We encourage you to get your Part D vaccines at network pharmacies for cost savings and convenience (you won’t need to submit a paper claim form).
Options to get your shingles shot with our Medicare Advantage (MAPD) plans:
Get your vaccine at a network pharmacy and pay nothing (covers both the vaccine and getting the shot).
Get the vaccine through a network pharmacy and have your doctor give you the shot. You pay the nothing for the vaccine and the doctor administration fee for getting the shot. You can then ask us to reimburse you for the doctor’s fee by submitting a Direct Member Reimbursement form. We’ll reimburse you for the allowable amount that Aetna pays the provider; any amount above the allowable amount is your responsibility.
Get the vaccine and injection from your doctor. You pay for both the vaccine and getting the shot. You can then submit a Direct Member Reimbursement form.If you paid out of pocket for the vaccine, we’ll reimburse you. For getting the shot, we’ll reimburse you for the allowable amount that Aetna pays the provider; any amount above the allowable amount is your responsibility.
