If you take medicines regularly, you may have the option of having your prescriptions delivered right to your door. Your plan may include convenient home delivery of medicines you take on a regular basis.
Prescription mail order saves you time and hassle and may help you save money. And most prescription drugs are available through our mail order pharmacy.

You can get up to a 90-day supply for most drugs.*
Step 1: See if your medication is available for home delivery
Most, but not all, drugs are eligible for the service. Check your plan formulary (drug list), or call us at the number on your member ID card.

You can pay for your deliveries with all major credit or debit cards, electronic check and more. Call us to find out all of your payment options.
Tell your doctor you’d like your eligible prescriptions delivered. Ask them to send an electronic prescription (e-prescribe) to our home delivery.
Once we receive your prescription order:
We’ll check to make sure we have all the information we need to process your order. We’ll contact you or your doctor if we need more information.
If your order is for a new prescription:
And you ordered it yourself, we’ll ship it as soon as it’s processed. Just make sure we have your payment information on file to avoid delays.
And your doctor sent us an e-prescribe, we’ll need your approval to ship it unless you’ve used our home delivery service in the last 12 months. If you do, we’ll ship your order as soon as it’s processed.
If your order is a refill:
And you ordered it yourself, we’ll ship it as soon as it’s processed. Just make sure we have your payment information on file to avoid delays.
Your home delivery prescription order usually arrives within 7 to 10 days after we process your order.
Keep in mind: Some prescriptions require you to sign for the delivery. Call us to ask if your drug requires a signature at the time of delivery.
Some reasons why your order may be delayed are:
We don’t have your payment information on file
You haven’t told us we can ship the order to you
Severe weather slows down the mail delivery
Your medication has special rules, such as prior authorization. We’ll have to contact your doctor to get it.
Your doctor sent a new prescription. We may need your approval before we ship it to you.
If your order is ever delayed, call us at the number on your member ID card to find out what you can do, including any options to get an emergency supply.
Can I manage my home delivery prescription orders online?
Yes. Just log into your member website and you can manage your home delivery in the Aetna Pharmacy section.
Can I have my prescriptions delivered to an address that’s not where I live or to a temporary address?
Yes. Generally you can choose an alternate shipping address. Some restrictions may apply.
Can I return medications that are delivered to me?
As a general rule, we can’t accept returns for home-delivered prescriptions. Some exceptions may apply. If you have questions, give us a call at the number on your member ID card.
