Interest-Based Advertisements Policy

This Interest-Based Advertisements Policy (the “Ad Policy”) describes our practices in connection with information we collect through software applications and websites that we operate and that contain a link to this Ad Policy (an “Application” or, together, the “Applications”).

Aetna does not conduct interest-based advertising on any Applications (or portions thereof) that are directed to children as defined under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, or where Aetna has actual knowledge that a user is under 13 years of age.

Aetna (sometimes referred to as "we" "us" or "our") allows third parties to serve advertisements on our behalf across the Internet and to provide analytics services. These third parties, including Facebook, may use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Applications and other websites and software applications, including your IP address, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and conversion information. This information may be used by Aetna and these third parties to analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests in our Applications and other websites and software applications, and better understand your online activity. This Ad Policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, third party cookies, web beacons, or other tracking technologies and we encourage you to check the privacy policies of these third parties to learn more about their privacy practices.

Through the Digital Advertising Alliance ("DAA"), the leading media and marketing associations have developed an industry self-regulatory program (the “Program”) to give consumers a better understanding of and greater control over ads that are customized based on their online behavior across different Web Sites. Aetna adheres to the Digital Advertising Alliance's self-regulatory principles for online behavioral advertising (www.AboutAds.info).

The Digital Advertising Alliance maintains a web site where consumers can opt out from receiving interest-based advertising from some or all of the network advertising companies participating in the program (www.AboutAds.info/choices).
